Work, work, work

I’ve been trying to edit the first section of Don’t Ask, which is about the first quarter or so. This involves making sure the characters are consistent, making sure interesting things are happening, and making sure that the interesting things that are happening to my consistent characters are the best things that could be happening to them. Not necessarily that they would agree, of course. It’s the beginning of a novel, which means that some unpleasantness needs to occur. But these things must press the plot forward in the best possible way.

There will be an addition to our household on Saturday, perhaps, and I’ll fill in the details when it actually hoppens.
